Beer of the Month March 2015

I'm excited to introduce Beer of the Month for March ... Parallel 49 Craft Lager, from right here in Vancouver BC! I tried Parallel 49 Craft Lager on tap at the Parallel 49 tasting room, located at 1950 Triumph Street in Vancouver. It was one of eight tasters I had from 2 paddles at four bucks a pop. I enjoyed all the different flavours that were on tap. I will definitely be going back there and will be featuring them later this month. They have a great atmosphere and (what I really love) they are dog friendly!

Side note: Vancouver is one of the most dog friendly cities in the world. It's astonishing why more places aren't dog friendly, anyway back to beer.

This pale lager is gold and pours with a small creamy white head. It's clear with light carbonation, a light malty flavor, a subtle bitterness with a crisp finish and a hint of citrus. Parallel 49 Brewery started with three Vancouver beer enthusiasts brewing beer at home with a dream to open their own brewery. With their local ingredients, like their Hops grown in Chilliwack BC, their dog friendly demeanor, and their amazing selection on tap, there's no wonder they have quickly become a very popular brewery. It is also available all year. Go try it out!

Other honorable mentions that did not make beer of the month were: Gypsy Tears Ruby Ale and Old Boy Brown Ale also from Parallel 49.

As my knowledge and appreciation for beer continues to grow, I'm glad you are tagging along for the ride. I can't wait to see what this months breweries bring me.
