Straw and Gold: I’m so happy to have stumbled across Straw and Gold. Reading Lauren's answers in the interview, I found myself reflecting on my own life. Digging deeper into what really made me want to blog. Lauren truly lives out what she believes in. Her website is filled with amazing items for your home that are all hand made by various artisans and makers.

We are an online purveyor of handcrafted, quality goods. All of our artists and makers create pieces that are built to last.

About Lauren Musacchio: Lauren is the heart and soul behind Straw + Gold She started Straw and Gold by filling her life with things she loves. Lauren is interested in creators, DIYs and everything hand made. Her goal is to expose talented artists and share their stories. On top of everything she does for her business she still finds time to work on her music. Music is a huge part of who she is. She is a talented musician; she took opera in college and is releasing her first EP this year. (EP: Series of musical recordings.)

Inspiration & Support: Music and her mountain home in the Catskills motivate her to create. Her inspiration comes from people who follow their dreams and passions and people who live their life doing what the love and what they enjoy. Her goal is to tell their stories. Her support comes from her fiance Jared. He inspires her and encourages her to be a better person.

Day-to-Day & Overcoming Obstacles: Lauren is a self-proclaimed early bird. Her days are spent cooking, doing yoga, making music and, of course, working on Straw & Gold. She does everything herself, working night and day. Whether it be finding new artists to feature, updating the website, answering emails or photographing new items. Problem solving, staying calm and taking time to relax are what help her get through difficulties.

Future Goals: Lauren would like to continue to grow Straw and Gold. Eventually she’s aiming towards creating a shop to bring artists and makers together under one roof to encourage and learn from one another.
