WHITE BRIX
White Brix is a little shop based out of Vancouver BC that I have been drooling over for months. The idea behind her items stemmed from her love of simple styling and typography from vintage tee shirts and clothes. Carly wanted to bring this love of hers and turn it into home decor. Her beautiful banners and pillows are designed, handmade and printed in Vancouver BC. All her products have a vintage "worn-in" vibe and use eco-friendly water based ink. After working for 10 years as a co-owner of a vintage and new clothing store in Vancouver, she knew that she wanted to remain self-employed. “Although being an entrepreneur has more than it’s fair share of challenges, I find that motivating and it’s extremely rewarding when you see your vision come to light and all of your hard work pay off." The biggest hurdle she has had to overcome was sourcing materials for her new business venture. She had a specific idea in mind for what type of fabric she wanted and took a bit of digging to find what she was looking for.

Day to day Carly has a fairly set schedule, but when dealing with customers and orders from all different time zones she needs to check her messages quite regularly even outside of regular working hours. Aside from working on White, she has recently launched a second business called Little Wanderer which is a wonderful collection of handmade children's teepees.
Carly lives with her two dogs and her husband Sean. The two are expecting their first child in March of next year. Her husband, friends and family are wonderfully supportive of Carly and her business ventures.
Having such a supportive group of people surrounding me is extremely important and keeps me motivated, especially when times can be trying as a business owner.
She is most inspired by others who also have a passion for making a positive impact people’s lives. Something that she finds is very important is doing something that makes you happy, something that interests you. Her goal for both businesses are to continue to grow and increase with complimentary products and presence in brick and mortar retail stores.
I firmly believe that when you do what interests you, this shines through in your work and resonates with people and that is extremely rewarding to me.
A few of my favourite items from White Brix include: Moon Phases Decorative Throw Pillow, Crossed Arrows Decorative Throw Pillow and of course the Happy Camper Banner (which is hanging in my living room ).
