Behind the Blog: Creative Wife + Joyful Worker
Creative Wife + Joyful Worker:The lovely lady behind Creative Wife + Joyful Worker is a huge inspiration to me. Codi is a mother of two and a graphic design student at BCIT and Emily Carr University. On a family road trip she decided she wanted to start up her own blog, that’s when Creative Wife + Joyful Worker was created.
She uses her blog as a place to express herself and be creative. She shares posts that have meaning to her, quality products for kids like clothes and toys from small businesses, cute DIYs, recipes and crafts to do with the kids, as well as amazing photographs she has taken.
Inspirations & Support:Shops on Instagram that she follows gave her motivation to find out about their stories and how they grow their businesses. She enjoys connecting with “like-minded mommas”.
Her two kids giver her encouragement and inspire her creativity on a daily basis. Her family and friends are all very supportive of her and the businesses she features.
“I have a little party in my head every time one of my friends tells me that they read my post and then ordered an item from the small shop that I just introduced them to. I also love hearing that I am helping these small businesses and at the same time feeling so much love and support from my friends and followers that send me feedback.”.
Day to Day & Overcoming Obstacles: Codi spends most of her day playing with her daughter while her son is in kindergarten. Her husband is super helpful when he gets home from work, helping with cooking, cleaning and all things kids. On top of going to school three nights a week, working, doing housework and homework she somehow manages to make time to work on her blog and make connections with small businesses.
The biggest obstacle she had to overcome when starting her blog was lack of time and doubts she had about being a writer.
Future Goals: Her goals are to share more about herself and to settle into a schedule for posting on her blog. She also would like to start selling stationary and greeting cards in her own Etsy shop.
“I believe us bloggers need to stick together and I've had so many people be so kind to me that I want to share the same kindness with many other new bloggers/shop owners.”
It’s very inspiring to me, someone who just started blogging, to see that she pushed through obstacles and is now successful and doing what she loves to do.
