Business Feature: Alchemy
About:This Melbourne based business has been up and running for a few years now. It came about without any intention. Belinda originally used her website as an outlet to share her creative pursuits: The main focus for what she does is to extend and improve her creative skills. She wishes to inspire others creatively and show that it is possible to create sustainability without compromising its quality or aesthetics. All of her items are handmade with non-toxic recycled materials. From start to finish, everything is ecofriendly. Her shop runs on renewable energy. Each of her items are made using sustainable materials; even the packaging used to ship her orders are made with reclaimed materials. I am absolutely inspired by her method and her desire to live and work this way.

Her whole life encompasses positively benefiting others. On top of her work on alchemy, this wonder woman studies permaculture, volunteers, and works in sustainability education and on a community organic farm.
Now both my creativity and business have become an integral part of my life, and I love it.
She believes that a business won’t grow if it lacks passion. Every aspect of her life demonstrates a passion for what she does. She chooses to live a slow, simple, and thoughtful life.

Inspiration & Support:
She grew up with a creative family and spent a lot of time in nature. Because of her upbringing she loves working with her hands and still enjoys nature. She says that nature is what inspires her the most. It influences everything she does.
For me, nothing man made can match the beauty that the natural world provides.
Her support comes from different role models in her life; mentors, assistants, ears to listen, and her friends; all encouraging and supporting her and her business. Each of them contributes in their own way. What she does is inspiration enough for her to continue what she does. She isn’t in it to make money, she does it because she loves it and that is reason enough for her. Her pockets are often filled with treasures from her walks.

Day-to-Day:
Her day starts with meditation, yoga, and a green smoothie. From there her day doesn’t have a set schedule and that seems to work for her. She will work on projects, fit in a walk, or do some administrative work. She’s currently working on preparing weaving kits. She doesn’t want her business to become cumbersome or become stressful with dates and deadlines. For her going day to day works just fine.
Future Goals:
She wishes to grow creatively and collaborate with like-minded artists and makers. She hopes that what she does inspires others to explore their own creativity
