Homeschool Stories From Real Moms
Part 2: Peacefulness In Nature
We're introducing a weekly homeschooling mom feature to our blog. These posts are to encourage you along your homeschooling journey, share experiences and connect with other homeschooling moms all over the world.
This week's Homeschooling Mom is Amber, a homeschooling mom of two adventuring around and homeschoolilng in Seattle Washington.
I am Amber, a stay at home mom to two beautiful, wild children. Willow is 2.5yo and Wyatt is 9mo. I was inspired to create a homeschool preschool for Willow for her 2nd birthday. She is incredibly smart and seemed ready for a structured learning environment but not quite old enough to attend the schools nearby. I have always pondered the idea of homeschooling and decided that it was time to give it a shot. So far it is a huge hit!
Willow (and as of lately Wyatt) love our learning adventures and I love setting up the lessons. When it comes to preschool, the kids are big fans of anything messy and sensory. Willow enjoys painting but finds paper boring and prefers to paint her body or a plastic toy. Painting is ALWAYS followed by a bath (which is another favourite activity). Outside of our preschool room, we enjoy going to the islands and taking in the beauty and peacefulness of nature. We are happy wherever there is water.
