The Christmas Where Jane Caught Pneumonia
The Christmas Where Jane Caught Pneumonia
This past week has been tough. While everyone else was enjoying everything the Christmas holiday entails (turkey dinner, wrapping and opening presents, playing in the snow), we were in and out of the hospital. During the 6 days surrounding Christmas, she had a fever and wouldn't eat or drinking anything but a few bites of a pickle. All she did was coughed, cried and cuddled. Needless to say two hospital visits, numerous tests and x-rays later we found out shes got pneumonia. Probably from coughing to the point of puking and it getting into her lungs.
She's on medication now and is on the mend. She ate some food last night as well as today and hasn't coughed nearly as much as she has the past week. Thank you, everyone, for your concern and continued prayers. We will keep you updated as she improves.
This blog has been such a beautiful outlet for me to share my thoughts and our journey as a family. It began when Chris and I were a young couple, then to the addition of our hound dog hank, to the birth of our daughter and now with baby number two on the way!
With Valentines Day around the corner, Chris and I are sharing some fun facts about is in a fun Q&A vlog. I can't believe some of the things he says.
Today was a major success for potty training but it definitely was a lot of work. You know those days where everything seems to go wrong? Well, today was one of those days. I needed to remmeber not to give up.
This is a short account of the first day potty training a one year old. Over all I would consider it a success however there was a lot of pee on the floor that needed to be cleaned up. Check out this post to find out the method we're using to potty train our daughter in one week. PS. There are a ton of cute pictures of her in the bath being silly.
My friend Shana from Life as Wife and Mom blog and her two sweet boys met up with us to do our Christmas Card photos. She is so talented! She really captured our silly family moments and made us look good. My favourite thing about these photos are how easy and fun they were to take. Rather than feeling posed and awkward in front of the camera, Shana captured moments of us just being a family.

Travel has taken its toll on our relationship as well as on our daughter. I feel for those of you who have to hold down the fort while your spouse is away, often times for weeks on end. It's a tough job and I'm so thankful that this past work trip Chris took was the last one.
This year I was able to share our favourite Christmas tradition with four lucky winners by gifting them seasons passes to the Vancouver Christmas market. Chris and I have gone to the market every year since we met and we look forward to it every Christmas.
We wanted to do a more modern twist on the ocean theme. Rather than having big plastic blow up sea creatures, sand, palm trees and hula skirts we kept it very modern and clean.
