Stay Home Series - Toilet Paper Seedling Planters

This tutorial come from someone everyone on our staff absolutely loves, Jennifer Edewaard (we love you Jen!). Jennifer is such a great Mom and we’re so glad that our resources are able to help her teach her son. Materials needed:

Toilet paper tubes
Scissors
Gardening soil
Seeds
Water

Steps:

1. Cut the TP tube in half. Then make 4 cuts that are approx. 1/2 in., creating 4 flaps of equal size.

2.Fold one flap inward, then working clockwise, fold the other flaps down. Tuck the corner of the last flap under the corner of the first flap. (Like when you are closing a cardboard box.)

3. Turn them over and gently press them down on a flat surface so make the bottoms flat, so that they will stay upright. Then fill them with soil.

4. Plant your seed ( or seeds, depending on what your planting).Press them into the middle of the soil with your finger. Then make sure to cover it with soil.

5. Sprinkle with a little water.

6. Once the seeds have sprouted and are ready to go into the ground, just plant them with your toilet paper tube planter. The cardboard will disintegrate in the soil.6 | Remove eggs from dye, stocking and allow to dry.
