Introduce your children to the fascinating world of kelp, often called the "forest of the sea," and uncover its many wonders.
Did you know that kelp can grow up to two feet in a single day? This rapid growth creates dense underwater forests teeming with marine life. For a hands-on activity, help your children create a kelp forest model using green streamers or strips of paper. Suspend them vertically from a sturdy frame or cardboard base to mimic kelp's towering stalks. Scatter small ocean animal figures among the "kelp" to represent the diverse ecosystem it supports. This immersive activity will nurture their curiosity and appreciation for these vital marine habitats.
