Shark week makes a huge splash! Dive in with bigger sharks and even bigger bites. Gain insights into the mysterious world of these magnificent creatures.

This is a remote/online program. Each day a new lesson is available to explore. These lessons include the following activities for you to do at home with your kids:

• Day 1: July 28th - Shark Week Begins

  • Dive in with Big Sharks and Even Bigger Bites! Kick off Shark Week by discovering the incredible diversity of these ocean giants. Learn about different kinds of sharks, from the fastest to the most camouflaged, and what unique adaptations make each one special in their underwater world.

• Day 2: July 29th - Deep Dive

  • Uncover Shark Secrets! Go beneath the surface and discover the secrets hidden beneath a shark’s tough exterior. Explore their amazing anatomy, from their cartilaginous skeletons to their powerful gills, and learn what makes them such fierce and efficient rulers of the ocean.

• Day 3: July 30th - Jaws! The Science of Shark Bites!

  • It's all about teeth, teeth, and more teeth! Learn about a shark's incredible biting power and their multiple rows of endlessly replacing teeth. Get hands-on with crafts that explore tooth shapes and functions, and understand how their bite helps them survive.

• Day 4: July 31st - Food Chain Kings

  • The Ocean's Apex Predators! Explore what makes sharks the undisputed top predators of the ocean. Understand their crucial role in maintaining a healthy marine ecosystem by keeping other animal populations in balance, and how their presence ensures a thriving ocean for everyone.

• Day 5: August 1st - Conservation Effort: Share Your Knowledge!

  • There’s no wrong way to explore the ocean and its amazing creatures! On our final day, put all your newfound shark knowledge to work. Create a fun summary of what you’ve learned this week and share your favorite shark facts with others, becoming a shark enthusiast!
